Documentation

Tixys is an online application which allows ticket vendors to sell tickets and other services to their customers. Each vendor has their own ticket shop and has full control over their offerings.

Tixys has no setup or regular fees. We only charge an application fee of three percent per ticket, plus payment fees. Payment fees depend on your country and the selected payment method. Details can be found on the website of our payments partner, Stripe.

Terms and concepts

In order to work with Tixys on an everyday basis, you should understand the key terms and concepts.

Terms

StationA station is a point on a map where passengers and their cargo can enter or exit a bus.
RouteA route is a chain of stations and their relative distance in driving minutes.
CategoryA category is a type of compartment with a given set of features.
SubjectA subject is a passenger, cargo or service type which can be bought on a given connection.
VehicleA vehicle is a resource which is used to transport passengers and cargo. Each vehicle contains one or more contingents of a particular category.
Tariff modelA tariff model is a matrix of prices for a given combination of category and subject on a given route leg.
TourA tour is the operation of a given vehicle on a given route with a given tariff model at a given time.
CalendarA calendar is a set of tours. NOTE: By default, there’s only one default calendar, and it’s not visible. To activate multiple calendars, you have to set your shop to advanced mode.
Order

An order in, in simple terms, the cart which the customer has purchased. Each order contains one or more tickets, and one or more payments. A cart can have two states:

openThe order is open until the checkout and payment are finished. If a payment fails, the customer is asked to try again or select a different payment method. Abandoned carts are also considered as open payments, because there is no way to check if a cart is still being checked out or has been ultimately abandoned.
finishedAs soon as we have a payment with a pending or finished status, the order is being finshed by the system and the customer receives their ticket(s).

The order also contains the customer information for the given order. TIXYS does not create customer accounts by default, because they are not really neccessary and would just create more complexity.

ConnectionA connection consists of one or more legs. Each leg is a segment of a tour with a departure and destination station. For example: On a tour with a route A - B - C - D, a connection leg could be a segment where the customer takes the segment from B to D.
TicketA ticket is the entitlement to use a given connection with a given set of subjects in given categories for a given price.
